Mr. Collins reached out after seeing a post I shared about a similar multi-vendor eCommerce platform we built. Up until then, he had been running his business manually through word-of-mouth and WhatsApp status updates. But after seeing the multi-vendor website we built for another client, he saw what was possible and asked for the same, but tailored to the sports niche.
Together, we built Sportfills. A platform where sports lovers can buy, sell, and connect; bringing structure, trust, and a modern shopping experience to the sports gear market in Nigeria.
Build a full-fledged multi-vendor e-commerce website from scratch
Position Sportfills as a platform brand, not just a store
Make it easy and secure for vendors to list products (new or used)
Give buyers full confidence by protecting their purchases
Ensure the website has an app-like experience on mobile
Brand Identity + Platform Design
We started with branding; designing the logo, choosing typography, and setting colour tones to balance energy with credibility. We leaned into a clean, app-like aesthetic to support the platform’s diverse vendors, rather than going heavy on any specific sports theme.
Vendor System + Commissions
Built on WordPress with a robust multi-vendor plugin setup, each vendor gets their own dashboard to manage products, track earnings, and request payouts. We also set up automated commission tracking so the system could scale without manual calculations.
Escrow-Style Buyer Protection
To build buyer trust, we added a smart feature where sellers only get paid after the customer marks an item as delivered. This creates a simple escrow-like setup to reduce fraud and boost buyer confidence.
Mobile-First UX & Smart Filtering
Since most users will visit via mobile, the platform is designed to feel like an app, load quickly, and be easy to navigate. We also added advanced filters, WhatsApp support, and real-time order tracking to streamline the user journey.
Though Sportfills hasn’t officially started active marketing yet, the client was blown away by the final product and is already planning a full go-to-market push.
As Mr. Collins put it:
“This is more than I imagined—it looks and feels like a global platform.”
